Thanks for your comments, you are correct that the campaign shows an idyllic view of cycling. That was the strategy and brief behind the work and it is not solely about commuting, more enjoying cycling as a whole. The research showed that it was exactly this sort of imagery that would persuade people to get back on their bikes. We are well aware of the reality of cycling in a city but if we portrayed that it would not encourage people. The more people we can get on their bikes the more supporters we will have for improving the infrastructure.

The pictures displayed on the website seem to portrait cycling through rose tinted glasses. The artwork shown offers an idyllic environment which is traffic free. How often do you cycle without cars, HGVs, buses or hazards of any kind? I live on the East side of London and I have no option but to cycle on congested A roads, encounter large roundabouts which in reality seem more like Brands Hatch. Although cycling is a wonderful mode of transport and pastime, the percentage of people cycling will not increase until better infrastructure is provided.
